Five Stars all the way! Service-Excellent! Wait Staff-Courteous! Food-Superb! Not sure if it's because they were filming a commercial when we arrived, but not even kidding, our food came out fast. My husband ordered a chimichanga and I ordered a cheese crisp with guacamole. It was all so BIG! The chimichanga was almost as wide as my husband! If we are ever in Kansas City again~this will be a must go to! Keep up the good work staff! Hats off to the chefs
The BEST margarita I have ever had. As a matter of fact, I had three of them. Spicy Jalapeno Margarita is delicious with bits of diced jalapeno and a spicy seasoned rim and hot sauce. You can tell it's a margarita without all the "too" sweet of a regular margarita. Cinco De Mayo celebration was very fun, they had singers, dancers and mariachi bands. Our server was very attentive, very nice and super busy. Some people were getting annoyed about slow service but the place was packed and if you were in a hurry there on 5/5/21-then you shouldn't have come until 5/6/21. Finally the food. The queso is some of the best I've had in KC Metro as was the complimentary salsa. My grande grilled chicken burrito covered in that delicious queso was very good. My wife thought it looked a little heavy on the diced veggies on top but not me-bring me all the diced onions/peppers etc. Great experience and can't wait to go back and try the fajitas that smelled awesome and looked even better.
They were calling this week a "soft opening" at this new family owned and operated business, but everything was already running like clockwork (and the food was delicious) during my dine-in lunch visit. My chicken street tacos included three tacos with plenty of tasty, grilled chicken, fresh double layer tortillas, some of the best Mexican rice I've tasted in a long time, and some very good beans for $11.00. My order was served just seven minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me a chance to dive into the complimentary chips with mild salsa. The dining area was spacious and clean, with a large bar area, a spacious patio, and lively Mexican background music, while the service was cheerful, attentive, and professional - nice! I only wish they offered a lunch menu or lunch specials. Overall, very nice!
Had a rare opportunity to have a nice Sunday lunch with a friend today. We decided to return to Black Agave Tequila Mexican Cuisine and Bar and try a few more items. I'm not nearly as eloquent as she is, so I'm not going to try to be. We tried the queso fundido, she had the shrimp tacos, and I had the agave bowl. Everything was delicious and fresh, and they also had the patio open and ready to go. They have a very large, gorgeous patio, and you can access the bar from outside! Don't hesitate to give them a try. Located across the street from Oak Park Mall, in the old, Old Chicago location.
